INTERPRETING SERVICES

Recently Japan and the UK have established a new trade agreement, which hopefully will be providing great business opportunities for companies in both countries. One potential stumbling-block is the language barrier. This is where I can come in to help!

I lived in Japan for nearly nine years and speak fluent Japanese, and have had nearly 50 years’ experience of interpreting both for Japanese and British clients. While much of my experience has been in the TV industry, I have interpreted in a number of different fields: social work, youth work, care for the elderly, care for the disabled, education, medicine, business negotiations: you name it, I’ve probably done it!

I live in the south of Scotland, but I am happy to travel anywhere and have a 5-seater Skoda Kodiaq with plenty of luggage space which I can provide to transport up to 4 clients around when necessary. Alternatively I can attend any Zoom meetings etc involving dialogue between British and Japanese colleagues.

Also, I have three security vetting clearances: the England and Wales DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service), Disclosure Scotland and the SC (Security Clearance, one of the highest vetting clearances). These clear me for work for the Police, the Prison Service, the Courts, work with children and the SC for sensitive Government work.

Please feel free to contact me should you require any further information.
